Mrs. Nels (Grace Emma) Hylland, 80, Leland, died Sunday, February 9, 1969, at Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea, Minnesota, where she had been a patient since Jan. 26.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at Center Lutheran Synod Church. The Rev. M. H. Otto conducted the rites with burial at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hylland was born October 29, 1888, at Bruce, South Dakota, to William and Anna (Quardts) Schieffelbein. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Bryant, South Dakota.
On October 28, 1910, she married Nels Hylland at Minot, North Dakota, where they lived on a homestead for a year then farmed in Iowa and Minnesota. For the past 48 years they lived on their farm west of Lake Mills. She was a member of Center Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Hylland was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters and a son, who died in infancy; two sisters, Marie and Stella and one brother, Ryder.
Surviving are her husband, Nels Hylland, 2 daughters, Mrs. Russell Oulman (Andrina), Leland, Mrs. Norman Helgeland (Gilma), Bricelyn, Minn., and 3 sons, Raymond, Leland, Laurence, Lake Mills and Paul of Scarville. Also 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Elmer Jenson (Irma) and 4 brothers, Ed, Leland, William, Minneapolis, Clarence, Jamestown, N. Dak and Albert, Mason City.
