Rites held at Center Church

Funeral services for Nels Hylland, were held Friday, February 7, 1975, at 1:30 p.m. at Center Lutheran Church. Rev. Paul Haugen officiated. Burial was in the Center Cemetery. Mittelstadt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Nels Hylland, 88, died February 5, 1975, at the Lake Mills nursing home where he had been a patient since January 4.

He was born October 3, 1886, in Newton township to Andrew and Antanette (Stockseth) Hylland. He was baptized by Rev. H. J. Strand and confirmed by Rev. A. J. Lee at the North Prairie Lutheran Church.

He was married to Grace Schieffelbein October 28, 1910, at Minot, North Dakota. For the past 54 years he has lived on his frarm west of Lake Mills.

He was preceeded in death by his wife; two sons and a daughter in infancy; a son, Laurence; a grandson, David Hylland; his parents, five brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by four children, Mrs. Norman (Gilma) Helgeland, Bricely, Minnesota, Mrs. Russell (Andrina) Oulman and Raymond, Leland, and Paul, Scarville; one sister, Mrs. Gilmer (Nettie) Anderson, Leland; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Nels died in 1975.
