Rosella M. “Lindy” Krull, age 91, of Forest City, Iowa, died on Sunday, May 05, 2013, at Forest Plaza Assisted Living in Forest City.

Rosella Margaretta “Lindy” (Hinders) Krull was born in Buffalo Center, Iowa, on August 25, 1921, the daughter of Ed and Rose (Zingg) Hinders. She attended school in Buffalo Center, graduating from Buffalo Center High School in 1937. She worked as a hired girl in Buffalo Center before marrying Fim “Swede” Krull on February 14, 1940, in a parsonage in Princeton, Missouri. The couple made their home in rural Woden, Iowa, where Swede worked as a hired man until he started farming north of Thompson. Later, he farmed near the Winnebago Lutheran Church and Vinje, Iowa.

For thirty-three years, Lindy worked at Deluxe Products/Cummins Filtration. In later years, she lived at Forest Plaza Assisted Living. An active member of Winnebago Lutheran Church and the Lydia circle, she served twice as president of WELCA, sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday school as long as she was able.

She loved children, music, reading, and writing short stories and poems. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Lindy is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Jerome) Sheldon, of rural Garner, Iowa; her daughter-in-law, Betty Krull, of Scarville, Iowa; two grandchildren, Michael (Carye) Krull, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Julie (Brian Kenaga) Krull-Kenaga, of Plymouth, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Nathan and Kathryn Krull and Josie Fritz; and a step great-grandson, Dillon Kenaga; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Swede; and a son, Keith Krull.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Winnebago Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills, with Pastor Bill Peters officiating. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Buffalo Center, Iowa, at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
