Helen Marie Reineke
May 16, 1941 - August 10, 2006Helen M. Reineke, age 65, of Forest City, died on Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Muse Norris Hospice in Mason City.
Helen M. Reineke was born on May 16, 1941, at Randolph, Nebraska, to Anton and Loretta (Olberding) Reineke. In 1952, she moved with her parents to Forest City. She graduated from Forest City High School.
She worked for many years at Stitchcraft before going to care for her Uncle Charlie in Coon Rapids, Iowa. While there, she worked at the Garst Seed Corn Company. After her uncle’s death, she returned to Forest City and worked at the Good Samaritan Center and Krysilis until her health forced her to retire.
A very loving and caring person, she put everyone else’s needs before her own. Above all, she valued faith, family, and friends.
She enjoyed doing crafts, quilting, and crocheting. She made many beautiful gifts for family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards with her Wednesday Afternoon Ladies, taking mini-trips, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Helen is survived by her brothers and sisters: Adolph (Bonnye) Reineke, Rosemary Reineke, Evelyn (Duane) Vrieze, Edward (Susan) Reineke, and David (Donna) Reineke; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and a great-great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Anton; a niece, Charlotte Reineke; a nephew, Joel Haugen; a great-niece, Angela Peterson; four great-nephews, Brenden & Zachary Able and Tristen & Casey Fiedler.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, August 14, 2006, at 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City with Fr. Michael Schueller officiating. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home and an hour prior to services at the church.
