May 24, 1957 - June 29, 2008FOREST CITY - Everett Brock, age 51, of Forest City, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.
Everett Eugene Brock was born on May 24, 1957, in Britt, Iowa, the son of Clifton and Violet (King) Brock. He attended and graduated from Forest City High School. On April 9, 1988, he married Laura Lee Nemmers. They were subsequently blessed with three wonderful children: Tara, 18, of Clear Lake, Tim, 16, and Tyler, 13.
A wonderful and kind man, a loving father and husband, always ready to help anyone in need, Everett had a very giving heart. He enjoyed farming, attending his sons’ wrestling meets, which his daughter also helped manage, and talking with people. However, he especially loved the wrestling family gatherings. In addition, he enjoyed going to stock car races and watching his cousins participate in demolition derbies.
Everett is survived by Laura, his wife of twenty years; a daughter, Tara; and two sons, Tim and Tyler; two sisters, Connie (Clyde) Holecek, of Klemme, and Patricia Peterson, of Madison, Wisconsin; a brother, Dennis (Beverly) Brock, of Charles City, Iowa; two nieces, Tabitha (Chad) Sterrenberg, and Kendall Peterson; and a nephew, Dallas (Deanna) Christensen.
Everett was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Jean (Brock) Ohm; his father, Clifton Dallas Brock; his step-father, Martin Herman August Ohm; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Jean and Curtis Lee Christensen; and a step-brother, Dennis Ohm.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City with Fr. Henry Huber officiating. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City and an hour prior to services at the church.
