MASON CITY -- Florence L. Graff, age 91, of Mason City, died Friday, January 26, 2007, at the Muse Norris Hospice in Mason City.

Florence was born in Forest City, Iowa, on October 31, 1915, the daughter of Sam and Mary (Willert) Kitner. She received her education in the rural school near her home.

On February 22, 1936, Florence married Marcus Graff at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City. To this marriage, ten children were born. For many years, she and Marcus farmed west of Forest City before leaving the farm and moving to an acreage near Joice. After Marcus's death in 1980, Florence made her home in Mason City where she worked part-time for the Salvation Army and at the Senior Citizens Center.

She enjoyed caring for her flower gardens, feeding the birds, and going to garage sales. Her greatest enjoyment, however, came from visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Florence is survived by her children: Dennis (Linda) Graff, of Mason City, Rodney (Tammy) Graff, of Joice, Geraldine Mikelson, of Garner, Dolly Skarpness, of Mason City, Carol Mathahs, of Thompson, Rosemary Green, of Austin, Texas, Mrs. Sandra VanDenHul, of Mason City, and Sharon Sandell, of Mason City; thirty-eight grandchildren; seventy-four great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Weaver, of Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marcus; her son, Ronald; her daughter, Elizabeth; her great-grandson, Andrew; seven brothers; and a sister.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, January 29, 2007, at 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City with Fr. Henry Huber officiating. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, January 28, 2007, at the Peterson Lund Funeral Home and an hour prior to service at the church.
