Marceline Fure, 85, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.

Born on September 23, 1925, in rural Wells, Minnesota, the daughter of Otto and Ida (Boeck) Wille, Marceline graduated from Wells High School, lived with her cousin in Portland, Oregon, for a year, and then worked in Minneapolis for a short time. On April 12, 1950, she married Jenning Fure in Wells. They farmed and made their home in rural Kiester for many years. While in Kiester, she became an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Since moving to Albert Lea twenty-eight years ago, she was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church where she enjoyed participating in the "Sew and Tell" quilting group and in Bible Study.

Marceline enjoyed tending her garden which included beautiful flowers and a plentiful harvest of vegetables. Her dill pickles were undoubtedly “the best.” She had many interests which included enjoying all kinds of music, dancing, playing cards, traveling, and watching baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins' games.

Marceline in survived by four children: Del (Carolyn) Fure, of Decorah, Iowa, and Madonna Brue, Bruce (Lois) Fure, and Diane (John) Bazey, all of Rochester, Minnesota; her grandchildren: JoAnna Fure, of Minneapolis, Linnea (Mike) Starkey, of North Liberty, Iowa, Andrea (Piyush) Patel, of Marion, Iowa, Michael (Kym) Brue, of Belgium, Wisconsin, Michelle (Mark) Diekrager, of Dexter, Minnesota, Jeff Brue, of San Francisco, California, Jason (Sabra) Brue, of Boise, Idaho, and Jennifer Brue, of Mound, Minnesota; her great grandchildren: Caleb Starkey, Lauren Patel, Michaela and Chase Diekrager, and Kristopher, Cylas, and Wyatt Brue; one great great-granddaughter, Emily Brue; and her nephew, Jerry Ewert; as well as many other nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jenning; her sister and brother-in-law, Adeline and Mike Ewert; a son in infancy; and a son-in-law, Keith Brue.

The Funeral Service for Marceline M. Fure of Albert Lea, Minnesota, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Salem Lutheran Church, the Reverend Mark Niethammer officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kiester [rural Thompson, Winnebago County, Iowa]. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 on Friday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at the church.
