June 13, 1905 - November 27, 2008Bernet Cox Isakson, 103, of Owatonna, Minnesota, died on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Traditions of Owatonna.
She was born on June 13, 1905, in Eden Township, Iowa, the daughter of Clement and Anna (Flo) Fure. In 1923, she married Leonard Fosness; they had six children.
During the 1940s, she owned and operated the Welcome Inn Restaurant in Lake Mills, Iowa. She later owned a nursing home in Lake Mills for many years. In 1948, she married Herb Cox of Lake Mills. She later married Emil Isakson in 1984 and lived full-time in Mission, Texas, until returning to the Midwest in 2000.
She is survived by three sons, Harland Fosness, of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Mission, Texas, Roger Fosness, of Waseca, Minnesota, and Darus Fosness, of Van Nuys, California; a daughter, Arneida Greenberg, of Newport Beach, California; three brothers, Glen Fure, of Kiester, Minnesota, Percing Fure, of Florida, and Bill Fure, of Faribault, Minnesota; two sisters, Berdell Trytten, of Kiester, Minnesota, and Wilma Thompson, of Kerrville, Texas; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Kiester [rural Thompson, Winnebago County, Iowa], with the Rev. Chris Fiske officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
