Roy Marvin Stolen, Jr.
September 6, 1927 - April 5, 2012

Roy Marvin Stolen, Jr., 84, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 5, 2012.

He was born on September 6, 1927, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Roy and Mildred (Harrison) Stolen. He attended schools in Madison, Wisconsin, and Sioux City, Iowa. From 1944 to 1946, he served his country in the United States Navy.

On January 27, 1945, Roy married Lorraine Mostrom in Lake Mils, Iowa. He worked as the lead mechanic at Mercy Hospital until his retirement in 1994. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hampton and a life member of the VFW, he enjoyed coaching youth baseball, attending his grandchildren's activities, cheating at Hearts, and going to the casino.

Roy is survived by four children, Richard (Donna) Stolen, of Victoria, Minnesota, Steven (Rob MacPherson) Stolen, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert (Jane) Stolen, of Atkins, Iowa, and Cynthia (Doug) Miller, of Hampton; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two step brothers, Gary and Don; and a step sister, Darlene Hashman.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his step mother, Margaret; and a step brother, Lynwood.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Mason City VFW. Burial will be in the North Prairie Cemetery near Lake Mills, Iowa.
