Iletha Gahan
November 19, 1937- November 8, 2012

Iletha Gahan, 74, of Forest City, died Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Home in Mason City.

Iletha was born on November 19, 1937, in Winneshiek County to Lloyd and Clara (Schnuelle) Kamp. After her parents passed away, she went to live with her foster parents, Kalmer and Helen Johnson. She attended Forest City High School, graduating in 1957.

On November 2, 1957, Iletha married Tex O. Borg. They had two children but later divorced. Years later, she married Donald Gahan.

Iletha worked at the Johnson Feed Store, the Forest City Hospital as a nurses aide, and the First Baptist Church as a janitor. In addition, she cleaned homes and business as well as fulfilling her role as a farm wife. A member of the First Baptist Church, she helped in several areas including decorating, teaching Sunday school, and serving with the Girls Missionary Guild and on the food committee. Always busy serving others, Iletha enjoyed helping those in need. Moreover, she loved to cook and bake. Her specialty was lemon meringue pie for which she won awards at three different contests. She loved her flowers and her collection of birds. Most of all, however, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter.

Her family includes her son, Dale, and his wife, Tanya Borg, and her daughter, Teresa Borg, all of Forest City; three grandchildren: Anthony Otis, of Garner, and Andrew Frazee and Melissa Borg, both of Forest City; and her great granddaughter, Misha Otis, of Garner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Clara Kamp; her step dad, Albert Shultz; her foster parents, Kalmer and Helen Johnson; her brothers, Leonard, Charles, and Kenneth Kamp; and her sister, Lorraine Vandersitt.

Funeral Service will be Monday, November 12, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, in Forest City. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the Church.
