(March 4, 1940 - November 14, 2012)

Lawrence L. Winter, 72, of Stewartville, Minnesota, (formerly of the Buffalo Center and Mason City areas) died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Born March 4th, 1940, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, he was raised on a farm and started trucking in 1960. After 48 years and over 3 million miles of safe driving, he retired in 2009 in Stewartville, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen (Egesdal) Winter; his daughter, Kim (Mike) Donahoe, of Stewartville, Minnesota; his son, James Winter, of Boone, Iowa; four grandchildren, Bob and Caitlin Donahoe and Sarah and Elizabeth Winter; three step grandchildren, Jackie Gunderson and Jeff and James Donahoe; three step great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Tucker Donahoe and Daltin Hawkins; his two sisters, Minnie (Merlin) Walker and Marge Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ubbe and Hermena Winter, of Buffalo Center, Iowa; and four brothers, John, Edward, George, and Andrew Winter.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Winter Funeral Home in Buffalo Center with Pastor Sandra Burdick officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center.
