Dorothy N. Reyerson
(April 12, 1925 - September 1, 2012)

Dorothy N. Reyerson, 87, of Northwood, Iowa, died Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, Minnesota, where she had been a resident for the past five years.

Dorothy N. Landaas Reyerson was born April 12, 1925, to Anna Längeland and Lars Landaas in Albert Lea, Freeborn County, Minnesota. Baptized and confirmed in the Emmons Lutheran Church, she grew up in the Emmons, Minnesota, area and attended Emmons Schools.

On October 9, 1943, she married Maurice Reyerson at the First Lutheran Church parsonage in Albert Lea. Subsequently, they had four daughters while living on the Reyerson homestead, a Century Farm. Throughout their entire married life, they raised cattle and milked cows, and later added feeder cattle along with hogs, sheep, chickens, and various other farm animals while also farming the land.

An active member of Silver Lake Lutheran Church, Dorothy served on various committees and councils. She also participated in the Albert Lea Moose Club and the Eagles Lodge where she served as an officer.

Dorothy loved to visit friends, neighbors, and family. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping with her husband and her family. In addition, she and Maurice loved a night out dining and dancing.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Marge (David) Tenold, Donna (Neil) Haugen, Joan (Tom) Vorland, and Jean Hrubetz, all of Northwood, Iowa; her grandchildren, Michael Brunsvold, Jacob Haugen, Ryne Isidora, Dustin Hrubetz, and Jackie Hrubetz; her great-grandchildren, Xander, Shlya and Leah Haugen, Jade and Patrick Isidora, and Aubrey Hrubetz; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Landaas and Vange Landaas; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; her husband; her mother and father-in-law; her brothers, Lloyd, Alfred, and Oscar Landaas; her sisters, Myrtle Peterson, Martha Klukow, Lillian Hoyne, and all their spouses; a grandson, Todd Brunsvold, a sister-in-law and her spouse; one special aunt, one niece; and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Silver Lake Lutheran Church in rural Northwood, Iowa, with Pastor Randy Baldwin officiating. Burial will be at Silver Lake Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday evening, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, Iowa, 50450, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
