FOREST CITY - Edell Westerberg, age 81 of Forest City, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

She received her education in rural school near her home and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1947. The family lived on a farm north of Clear Lake, and Edell worked for a time at the Clear Lake Bakery and at the Green Mill Restaurant in Mason City.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in circle and enjoyed serving for special church events. She enjoyed her flower gardens and loved going shopping and antiquing. For years she supported her grandchildren by attending their athletic games and sharing their sports interests on television.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Donald Westerberg, of Forest City; her children, Tim (Gayle) Westerberg, of Dillon, Colorado, Deanna (Dave) Ennen, of Forest City, and Steve (Nancy) Westerberg, of Oelwein, Iowa; nine grandchildren and four great-granddaughters. Edell was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ona Snyder.
