(June 7, 1938 - February 2, 2012)

Pauline H. Anfinson, 73, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died Thursday, February 02, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

Pauline H., “The Swede,” Anfinson was born June 7, 1938, in Labolt, South Dakota, the daughter of Herbert and Olivia (Johnson) Englund. She had eight brothers and sisters.

Pauline married Robert L. Anfinson on June 7, 1958, in Watertown, South Dakota. They lived in Watertown and Mason City before moving to Lake Mills in 1963. They were blessed with two children, Peggy and Todd.

Pauline was very creative and enjoyed cooking; doing arts and crafts, entertaining friends and family, taking pictures, playing cards, traveling, and attempting golf and gardening. She was a member of numerous clubs and organizations. An active member of Salem Lutheran Church, Pauline was a “doer.” Whatever needed doing, she did; whoever needed help, she helped, always first in line to meet others’ needs.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughter, Peggy Anfinson, of Houston, Texas; her son, Todd (Naomi) Anfinson, of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Josh, Amber, and Paige Anfinson; and three great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Rayni, and Kaden Anfinson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins in both the U.S. and Sweden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Oliver, Homer, and Edsel Englund; and her sisters, Blenda Reoh and Audrey O’Steen.

The family gratefully thanks all of Pauline’s friends and co-workers over the years for all the joy and happiness that you shared with her.

Memorial service will be 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, Iowa, with Vicar Melinda McCluskey officiating.

Family will greet friends at Salem Lutheran Church from 2:00–3:00 PM on Sunday prior to the memorial service.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in South Dakota.
