Suicide at Forest City.
Forest City, Feb. 3.—This community was terribly shocked last evening to learn of the death by suicide of J. Howard, one of our old townsmen. Very little is known of the real motive so far as told by circumstances. Mr. Howard has been one of our leading barbers for a number of years and has always been an industrious man. Some two or three months ago he sold out his business interests here, since which time he has been looking around for another location. He came home last evening from Mason City over the B. C. R. & N. on the 5:30 train. He walked directly home and requested his wife to go after the mail, while she was gone he placed his revolver at the back of the ear and killed himself instantly.
