Barbara (Barb) Ann Holstad
December 28, 1939 - August 1, 2019

Barbara A. Holstad, age 79, of Lake Mills, died on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at her home.

Barbara Ann (Haugh) Holstad was born on December 28, 1939, in Wells, Minnesota, to Albert and Emily (Fendrich) Haugh. After graduating from Wells High School, she attended beauty school. Then, on May 22, 1965, she married Stanley L. Holstad at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City, Iowa. They made their home in Lake Mills where Barb worked at the Lake Mills Community Daycare & Preschool, Dollar General, and Fleetguard.

She, always, had a genuine warm smile and cheerful hello, constantly encouraging her children and grandchildren, supporting all their decisions, yet standing by with open arms if needed. In addition, although she worked hard, she, still, found time to be the biggest Minnesota Twins fan ever! Moreover, she loved following the Vikings, taking care of children, doing needlework, and having Lilly, her 4-legged fur baby, by her side through it all. Indeed, we will, forever, cherish our memories of the times she spent with grandchildren, family, and friends.

Barb is survived by her three children: Steve (Stacey) Holstad, of South Saint Paul, Minnesota, Terri Meyer, of Joice, Iowa, and Amy (Les) Prange, of Wells, Minnesota; her grandchildren: Ray (Starr) Fjelstad, of Lake Mills, Cameo (Beau) Honsey, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Ben Meyer, of Joice, Iowa, Jake Meyer, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sierra (Aston) Holstad, of San Francisco, California, Andy (Kenzie) Meyer, of Lake Mills, Hannah (Tyler) Knudtson, of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, and Caleb, Conner, and Riley Prange, all of Wells, Minnesota; and four great-grandchildren; her brother, Joseph (Kathy) Haugh, of Newell, Iowa; and her sister-in-law, Pam Haugh Holzer, of Rochester, Minnesota; as well as by many extended relatives and friends and Lilly, her beloved dog. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Stanley, in 2017; a sister, Janet Haugh; and a brother, Dave Haugh.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Truman Helgeson Civic Center, 227 West Main Street, Lake Mills, during which a vigil will be led by Father Paul Lippstock. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the fall at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lake Mills. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Mittelstadt Funeral Home, Lake Mills, Iowa, 2019.
