Eldon Milford Hagen
April 29, 1926 - October 3, 2018

Eldon Milford Hagen, 93, of Forest Plaza Assisted Living, 635B E Hwy 9, Forest City, Iowa 50436, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

Surrounded by his loving family, Eldon passed peacefully on October 3, 2018, at the age of 95. Born on April 29, 1923, in Mt. Valley Township, he graduated from Ventura High School. During World War II, he joined the Army Air Corps serving in the South Pacific, making lifetime friends. Following his discharge, he returned to Forest City where he met the love of his life, Rozella Olson. They married on June 24, 1950, at the West Prairie Lutheran Church.

In 1963, the Hagen family moved to Thousand Oaks, California, where Eldon accepted a position managing the maintenance for all the music, athletic, and drama activities at the new California Lutheran College. He remained there serving at events and working with students until he retired in 1990. Very busy during those years, he had six lively children at home and much to do in the CLC family. During the summers, he worked closely with the Dallas Cowboy Football team, becoming friends with coaches and players; later other athletic camps joined the summer schedule. Often behind the wheel of their motor home, he would drive friends and family to weekend games. After retiring, Eldon and Rozella came back home to Iowa. Once here, Eldon took an active role at the West Prairie Lutheran Church, Heritage Park of North Iowa, the North Iowa Winnebago RV travel club, the Sons of Norway and his local VFW. On the go in his later years with RV trips, he visited his children and grandchildren and was always ready to lend a hand with home improvements. He and Rosekka, also, enjoyed traveling to Europe with friends and discovering their roots in Scandinavia.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Rozella; his children: Annette, Constance (Mark), Mark, Michael (Karen), Steven (Amy) and Scott; twelve grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 246 S Clark Street, Forest City, Iowa 50436, with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. All in attendance are welcomed to a reception honoring Eldon following the service in the church fellowship hall. A private family inurnment will take place at a later time at West Prairie Cemetery in rural Leland, Iowa. The family would like to suggest memorials go to Heritage Park of North Iowa, PO Box 27, Forest City, Iowa 50436, or to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness Galatians 5:22.
