Diana E. Christopherson, 78, of Forest City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Diana Elizabeth Christopherson, a daughter of Michael and Saima (Sohlo) Steinbauer, was born on July 15, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended Wilson High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, and graduated with the Class of 1957. On August 1, 1959, she married Edward C. Christopherson, and to their union, three children were born: Edward, Gwendolyn, and Mark. The Christopherson family made their home in Minnesota and Iowa throughout the years while she stayed home raising her three children. Later, she worked at Pamida in Wadena, Minnesota, and Forest City, Iowa, as a clerk for over thirty-five35 years.

In her younger years, Diana enjoyed camping, boating, sewing, making ceramics pots, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her friends. Later in life, she enjoyed playing BINGO, watching Court TV and reality TV shows, and surfing the internet, especially Facebook. Most of all, however, she cherished her family, loving them so dearly and spending as much time with them as she could.

Those left to cherish Diana’s memory include her children: Edward (Terri) Christopherson, of Forest City, Iowa, Gwen (Paul Krause) Hoffman, of Rush Lake, Minnesota, and Mark (Deanna) Christopherson, of Forest City, Iowa; her grandchildren: John (Stacy) Hoffman, of Fargo, North Dakota, Adam Hoffman, of Breckenridge, Minnesota, Edward (PK) Christopherson and Travis Christopherson, both of Ankeny, Iowa, and Ashley Christopherson, of Ames, Iowa; her great-grandchildren: Hadley, Kaden, and Kaytilyn Hoffman, and Mollie Christopherson; and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Steinbauer, of Blaine, Minnesota; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Steinbauer.

A funeral service for Diana will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 9th, 2018, at the Karvonen Funeral Home, 419 2nd Street NE, Wadena, Minnesota, with the Reverend Kenneth B. Gehling presiding. A time for visitation will be observed from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark Street, Forest City, Iowa. A second time for visitation will take place for one hour before the funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, April 9, 2018. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery, Wadena, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
