Janice Arlene Johnson
January 30, 1939 - November 19, 2017Janice A. Johnson, 78, of Hayfield, died on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A daughter of Loren and Irene (Siebert) Farrell, Janice Arlene Johnson was born on January 30, 1939, in Winnebago County, Iowa. Educated in Crystal Lake Schools, she graduated in 1965. On August 31, 1957, she married Roger Johnson. To their union, three sons were born. Janice enjoyed taking care of her home and raising her sons. In addition, she worked for Stitchcraft at Winnebago Industries for a few years.
Janice had a strong faith in God. Indeed, she strived to live her life according to her Christian values. An active member of the Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church, she enjoyed being part of the ladies’ groups and volunteering anyway she could. She, also, liked sewing, knitting, gardening, painting, and spending time with her family and friends. Obviously, she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janice is survived by her two sons, Joel (Wendy) Johnson, and of Clive, and Arlyn D. Johnson; her grandchildren: Haiden and Grace Johnson and Alyssa (John) Marzen, of Altoona, Iowa, Kelsey Johnson, of Ankeny, and Christopher Johnson, of Urbandale; her great-grandchild, Angeleah Johnson; and her siblings: Lucille (Loren) Renze; David (Gwen) and Gordon (Carla) Farrell; and Irene Dow; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger D. Johnson, in 2004; her son, Lon Johnson; her brothers, Robert “Bob” and Loren “Buddy” Farrell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Wayne Halvorson officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday and continue until the start of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Crystal Lake Township Cemetery in Crystal Lake, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa.
