Leona Faye Vosburgh Burke, 95, of Lake Mills, Iowa, formerly of Carlsbad, California, went home to her Lord on Friday, October 27, 2017, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood, Iowa.

A daughter of Alto and Pearl (Deinhart) Vosburgh, Leona Faye Vosburgh Burke was born on October 1, 1922, in Rockwell, Iowa. She resided in Carlsbad, California, for sixty years before moving to Lake Mills, Iowa, after retiring from Hughes Aircraft, Oceanside, California. She enjoyed working in her garden and yard. Moreover, she loved to dance. A wonderful hostess to those passing through her doors, she could make them feel right at home. In addition, she looked forward to her daily walks by the ocean. Passionate about spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, she made following their activities a priority. First and foremost, however, she knew and loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her children Donald (Sylvia) Timm, Donna (David) Fjelstad, and Dixie (Tom) Montano; her grandchildren: Suzie, Aimee, Shellene, Scott, Ryan and Danette; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Vina (Vinnie); and one brother, Richard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Charlie; and one grandson, Todd.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, Iowa 50450. After the service her body will be cremated.
