May 22, 1915 - January 10, 2016Leila Kanetta Kloster, 100, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa.
Leila Kanetta (Hermanson) Kloster was born on May 22, 1915, near Lake Mills, to Ole and Juli Anne (Ingebritson) Hermanson. Baptized and confirmed at Winnebago Lutheran Church, she married Olaf Kloster on October 15, 1938.
Primarily a homemaker, Leila was employed as well by the Winnebago County Home for twenty-three years. She enjoyed her membership in various church circles. Known to her family and friends as the “Butterfly Lady,” she had an extensive collection of butterflies.
She is lovingly survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lowell and Lois Kloster, of Algona, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kevin (Tracey) Kloster, of Pipe Creek, Texas, Tonia McGruder, of Spencer, Iowa, and Erik (Melinda) Kloster, of Moore, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren, Kristina (Bo) Sports and Allie and Leaha McGruder, all of Spencer, Iowa, and Conner, Thorsan, and Zandra Kloster, all of Moore, Oklahoma; and three great-great grandchildren, Ashton, Gracey, and Jocelyn Sports; as well as by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Leila was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Cora, Ella, Evelyn, Alice, Hilma, and Ruth; and two brothers, James and Richard.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Salem Lutheran Church, Lake Mills, Iowa, with Pastor Melinda McCluskey officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 PM (service time) at Salem Lutheran Church on Thursday. Burial will take place at Salem Memorial Cemetery, Lake Mills, Iowa.
