Herbert Jensen, age 92, of Buffalo Center, died on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.

Herbert Madison Jensen was born on September 27, 1913, in Ringsted, Iowa, to Julius and Lena (Jeremiason) Jensen. At the age of two, he moved with his family to the farmstead two miles west and one mile north of Buffalo Center. There, he attended country school. On October 20, 1936, he married Eva Westendorf in Forest City, Iowa.

Herb farmed his entire life, first with his dad using horses and later with his son, Darrel, and his grandsons, Darrin and Chris Jensen. Of all the seasons, he liked fall the most. He served as a director for the country school and co-op.

He is survived by his daughters: Beverly Reller, and her husband, Roger, of Austin, Minnesota, Audrey Hartmann, and her husband, Dick, of San Marcos, California; and Karen Buss, and her husband, Russell, of Woden, Iowa; his daughter-in-law, Ellen Molskness; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eva; his son, Darrel; his brother, Carl; and four sisters, Amelia; Florence; Pearl; and Helen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 16, 2006, at the United Methodist Church, Buffalo Center, with Pastor Shannon Pascual officiating. Interment will follow at Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 15, 2006, at the Winter Funeral Home in Buffalo Center and again one hour before the service on Friday.
