Roger Johnson
(January 26, 1939 - August 17, 2015)

Roger S. Johnson, of Upton, Wyoming, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015, at the age of 76.

He was born on January 26, 1939, in Forest City, Iowa, to Clarence V. Johnson and Luella M. (Book) Johnson. He attended schools in Miller and Forest City, Iowa. On June 29, 1957, he married Sharon Kay Simons. They, subsequently, spent fifty-eight happily married years together. Roger worked as a certified mechanic, oil field hand, ranch hand, and construction worker, spending many years in road and rail construction. A loving person to his family and friends, he was known for his sarcastic sense of humor. He, also, enjoyed giving children quarters to buy gumballs at the local restaurant, Remy's. He was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Upton, Wyoming, and their three children: Sherri (Rodney) Randall, of Upton, Wyoming, and Rodney S. and Russell S. Johnson (Sharon Kvammen), all of Fertile, Iowa; and his brother, Lyle Johnson, and his family of Garner, Iowa; as well as by many friends and relatives in Iowa and Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Nancy.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on September 5, 2015, at Greenwood Cemetery in Upton.
