Lenore Jacqueline Anderson
August 29, 1934 - January 3, 2015

Lenore Jacqueline Anderson, 80, passed away on January 3, 2015, in St. Louis, Missouri. A daughter of James B. and Minnie Sogard Anderson, she was born on August 29, 1934, in Forest City, Iowa.

Baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, Lenore graduated from Forest City High School in 1952 and later from Waldorf College, also in Forest City. After completing a bachelor’s degree in 1957 at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, she went on to earn a master’s degree in social services at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. A truly unique individual, she worked in the St. Louis Projects for many years, devoting her life to the underprivileged. For over twenty years, she worked with the United Church of Christ (U.C.C.) and then most recently as a Counselor for Psych Care Consultants.

She was a patron of the St. Louis Zoo and an avid user of the public library. She had many, many friends. Survivors include first cousins on the Anderson and Sogard sides.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 17, 2015, at Kirkwood United Church of Christ in Kirkwood, Missouri. A burial service will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Forest City at 10:30 a.m. on July 7, 2015, with Rev. Rod Hopp of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating.
