October 13, 1906 - September 24, 2002Lillian Watson, 95, of Forest City, Iowa, died on Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
A daughter of Clyde and Tillie (Brostrom) Watson, Lillian Watson was born on October 13, 1906, in Oelwein, Iowa. After Lillian's father died when she was three months old, she moved with her mother to Forest City to be with her grandparents. She received her education in Forest City and graduated from Forest City High School in 1926. Baptized on Dec. 17, 1933, she, then, joined the First Baptist Church.
She first worked for M.M. Freedman Produce Company. She, then, worked as a dental assistant for Drs. Thompson and Ehred for twenty-one years. After a short time working for Dr. Hynes, she began working for Winnebago Industries in September of 1968. After five years there, she retired in 1977.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde; her stepfather and mother, Ed and Tillie Nelson; her aunts, Ida Olson, Hanna Brostrom, and Olga McChesnee, and two cousins, Carl and Minerva McChesnee.
Lillian is survived by a few cousins and three very special friends, Norma Hammond, Lois Holst, and Betty Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St., Forest City, with the Rev. Larry Kidwell officiating. Burial take place at the First Baptist Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City.
