(November 22, 1916 - March 9, 2015)

Verna Lorraine (Bolstad) Hugelen, age 98, of Golden Valley, Minnesota, died on Monday, March 9, 2015, after a brief stay at the Golden Living Lake Ridge Nursing Home in Roseville.

Verna Lorraine, a daughter of Albert and Inger Bolstad, was born on November 22, 1916, in Lake Mills, Iowa. In 1935, she married Chester Hugelen. They made their home in the Leland area and spent winters in Tucson, Arizona, after Chet retired.

Throughout her long life, Verna remained devoted to family and friends. Her incredible memory and keen sense of humor were obvious to everyone who met her. She, always, had a never-ending love for family, which had an immeasurable impact on those dear to her. She will be truly missed.

Survivors include her children: Eugene (Judith) Hugelen, of Tucson, Arizona, Nancy (Roger) Bergner, of Golden Valley, Minnesota, Pam Hugelen (Clem Padin), of Greenville, Deleware, and Kent (Stephanie) Hugelen, of Cushing, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Luella Bolstad, of Lake Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents, Albert and Inger; and her siblings: Arthur, Evelyn, Gladys, Beulah, Lucille, twin brother Virgil, Arlene, and Loren.

Memorials are preferred to North Memorial Hospice, 3300 Oakdale Avenue N, Robbinsdale, Minnesota 55422 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date with burial at Salem Memorial Cemetery, rural Lake Mills, Iowa.
