Terry Scott Ashley, 46, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died on Friday, December 28, 2007, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City after a seven year struggle with brain cancer.

Terry was born at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado, on September 7, 1961, to Terrance and Donna (Bozarth) Ashley. He attended schools in Omaha, Nebraska; Pirmasens and Zweibrücken, Germany; and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

On July 8, 1988, Terry married Susan (Boyken) Proulx in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He proudly parented three children from this union.

A loyal and generous friend, Terry enjoyed many pursuits in addition to his family. May he find endless baby hugs, arrowheads, Indianhead pennies, schnitzel meals, Grateful Dead concerts at Red Rocks, pepper gardens, Pikes Peak climbing and outdoor grilling opportunities, Jeopardy games, and singing kitties.

Those left to forever cherish time shared with Terry include: his wife, Susan; his children, Misty (companion Dan), of Marion, Andrea and baby Adeline, of Lake Mills, and Terry “TJ,” also of Lake Mills; his parents, Terrance and Jolene (Hood) Ashley, of Aurora, Colorado; his sister, Stacy (Dave) Knapp, of Mason City; his brothers, Joseph (D'etta) Ashley, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Michael (Marsha) Ashley, of Aurora, Colorado; his grandmother, Pearl Hood, of Mallard; his nieces and nephews: Elizabeth and Rebecca Wilson, and their babies, Kellan, Josephine and Isaac, of Mason City, Tearney and Raven Ashley, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Dylan Ashley, of Aurora, Colorado.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Ashley, and two maternal uncles and grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 3, 2007, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating. Terry’s family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Per Terry's wishes, his remains were cremated. A private family memorial will take place in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at a later date.
