Duane "Dewey" Seedorf
(February 3, 1954 - November 20, 2014)

Duane “Dewey” Seedorf, age 60, of Lake Mills, died peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at his home after battling pancreatic cancer.

A son of Alfred and Florence Seedorf, Duane was born on February 3, 1954, in Wells, Minnesota. He graduated from Kiester High School in 1972 and attended vocational school in Albert Lea to become a diesel mechanic. He worked at Kiester Implement for several years after college and then at Winnebago Industries in Forest City the past twenty-six years. On March 5, 1988, he married Terry Johnson.

Dewey served on the Kiester Fire Department for many years and had many hobbies. An avid hunter, he absolutely loved spending his time at deer camp with the guys every October. He also loved golfing, camping, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. For fourteen years, he served as an EMT for the Lake Mills Ambulance Service. A kind hearted soul, he would do almost anything for anybody.

He is survived by his wife, Terry; a son, Jeremie Seedorf (Ashley); a daughter, Jessica Humburg (Derek); two brothers, Steve (Terri) and Brad Seedorf; a sister, Michelle Hartigan; and six grandchildren, Maricela Curi; Adelyn, Landyn, and Zoey Humburg; and Ashtin and Sydnie Seedorf; his nephews, Jamie (Kailey Gansen), Jonathan (Rachael Johnson), and Tanner Seedorf; and Trey Tweedy; his nieces, Jenni (John Stanek), Tiffany, and Trinity Seedorf; his sister-in-law, Kay Whitman; and his brother-in-law, Komer Johnson, Jr.(Deb), as well as many other friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Florence Seedorf; his paternal grandparents, William and Emma Seedorf; and his maternal grandparents, Marvin and Elsie Freidel.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, November 24, 2014, at Salem Lutheran Church with lay minister Melinda McCluskey officiating. Visitation will take place at 9:30 AM and will continue until the time of the service at the church on Monday only. His body will be cremated after the service and inurnment will take place at Concordia Cemetery in rural Joice, Iowa, at a later date.
