Viola R. Bendickson
(May 19, 1923 - November 7, 2014)

Viola R. Bendickson, 91, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Highlands Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Viola Romaine (Maurstad) Bendickson was born on May 19, 1923, in Frost, Minnesota, a daughter of Matilda (Brekke) and Rolf Maurstad. They lived in Mason City, Iowa. After she met Marvin Bendickson, however, her life changed. They married on November 23, 1949, in Olivia, Minnesota. Subsequently, their marriage was blessed with four children, Steven, Marcia, Linda, and Laureen.

Vi lived and worked in Lake Mills her entire married life. She belonged to Salem Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

In 2006, Viola moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, with her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Randy Mincer. There, she attended Bella Vista Baptist Church where she acquired many friends.

Because of her declining health, Vi moved into The Highlands Heathcare and Rehabilitation Center in May of this year. Making her "home" there, she found many new friends. She loved to pick on the staff and thereby very much endeared herself to them.

On Friday, November 7, 2014, at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 19 days, she decided she had had enough and wanted to go see her "Father in Heaven."

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, her mother, and a daughter. She leaves behind a son, her daughters, and a sister as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed!

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Peter Soli officiating. Vi’s family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Salem Lutheran Church. Inurnment will take place at Salem Memorial Cemetery, Lake Mills, Iowa.

Thy will be done.
