Warren "Willie" Wubben
November 21, 1947 - September 29, 2014U.S. Veteran Warren “Willie” Wubben, 66, of Buffalo Center, died at his home on Monday evening, September 29, 2014, in Buffalo Center.
Willie was born on November 21, 1947, in Forest City, Iowa. He graduated from Buffalo Center High School and Waldorf College. He, then, earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees from UNI. He served two years in the Navy during the Vietnam era. He married Kathy Carson, but they later divorced. Willie was serving his 8th year as a Winnebago County Supervisor.
Willie is survived by his son, Chad (Amber); his grandchildren, Tyler and Emma; his brothers, Wayne (Dorothy) and Alan (Marcia); and his sister, Nancy (Craig) Hamilton, and his mother, Frances Wubben. He was preceded in death by his father, John.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2014, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Peake officiating. Burial will take place at Olena Mound Cemetery with military honors by the Buffalo Center American Legion Color Guard. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church and one hour before the service.
