Marjorie A. Hagenson, age 92, of Lake Mills, formerly of Thompson, Iowa, died on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the Lake Mills Care Center.

A daughter of John and Amelia H. (Knutson) Harlson, Marjorie Arlene Hagenson was born on January 4, 1922, on the family farm near Thompson, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On November 5, 1943, Marjorie married Marion Wayne Hagenson at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson, Iowa. Together, they owned and operated the Double M Drive-In in Thompson for several years. She also worked as Thompson’s first telephone operator and later at Deluxe Manufacturing in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Marjorie loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them with Belgium Waffles and brownies. Friends and relatives could always spot her coming down the road, hauling her best friend, “Tipper”, a Saint Bernard.

Marjorie is survived by her sons, Dennis, and his wife, Vickie Hagenson, of Webster City, Iowa, and Allen, and his wife, Wendy Hagenson, of Thompson, Iowa; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion, in 1998; and her brother, Lester Harlson.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 29, 2014, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson, Iowa, with Pastor Lynn Noel officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson, Iowa.
