Norma Quame-Bosma
November 26, 1921 - August 8, 2014

NORMA QUAME-BOSMA, 92, of Buffalo Center, died on Friday, August 8, 2014, at her home in Buffalo Center.

Norma Elaine Iseminger (aka Norma Elaine Sterrenberg) was born on November 26, 1921, in Canton, South Dakota, a daughter of Ernest and Violet Iseminger. After graduating from high school in Buffalo Center, she went on to teach country school in the area.

Norma married Orlando “Lindy” Quame on April 20, 1944. When Lindy began his plumbing business, she became the bookkeeper for the family concern. Later, she worked at Miller Drug Store and actively helped organize Hospice in the Buffalo Center area.

On December 14, 1996, Norma married Jim Bosma. A strong and determined woman, she put her family first and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took pride in her yard and her flowers. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, and getting together with her weekly card group. A member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she also volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels.

Norma is survived by: her husband, Jim Bosma; her daughter, Debby Smith; her daughter-in-law, Paulette Quame; her step-son, Steven (Sue) Bosma; his step-daughter, Suzanne Becker; her grandchildren: Gina (Greg) Welp, and their children, McCayla and Morgan; Janet (Bruce) Behn, and their daughter, Cassie; Jalen and Jessie Uhlenhopp; Noah Behn; Abbie White, and her children, Gage, Brekkin, and Duchovny; Jason (Angie) Smith, and their children, Austin and Justin; Nikki (Steve) Knowlton; Robin (Terry) Olmstead, and their son, Trevor; Kim (Travis) Borneman, and their children, Ivy, Jacob, and Owen; Kenzie (Sebastion) Thompson; Jesse (Kelsey) Bosma, and their children, Kaidin, Gabby, Wyatt, and Titus; and Katie Bosma; and her sister, Dorothy Callahan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lindy Quame; her sons, Gregory and Bradley Quame; and her sister, Lois Shumway.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 10, 2014, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Winter Funeral Home, Buffalo Center, and one hour before the service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Buffalo Center, with Pastor Bill Peake officiating. Burial will be in Olena Mound Cemetery, Buffalo Center.
