Senora B. Holt, 94, of rural Lake Mills, Iowa, died on Friday, June 13, 2014, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Senora Bertina (Dymbe) Holt was born on June 20, 1919, to Peter and Anna (Singelstad) Dymbe on the family farm in Winnebago County. Baptized and confirmed at the Lime Creek ELS Church, she attended country school and graduated from Lake Mills High School.

On April 12, 1941, she married Hartwick Holt at the Lime Creek ELS Church. Employed at Fleetguard Industries for twenty-five years, she enjoyed traveling both with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her trip to Norway in 2005, when she met four of her first cousins for the first time. Faith and family served as the cornerstones of Senora’s well-lived life.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Linda) Holt, of Lebanon, Oregon; two daughters, Teresa (David) Liane, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Karen (Dan) Ruda, of St. Paul, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Amy Holt, of Portland, Oregon, Dan Holt, of Beaverton, Oregon, Eric Herfendal, of Lake Mills, Iowa, Erin Herfendal, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Kevin Ruda, of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Kiersten Ruda, of Silver Springs, Maryland; two sisters, Bernice Olson, of Emmons, Minnesota, and Violet Tweed, of Ames, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lorraine Holt, of Hampton, Iowa, Mrs. Elaine Holt, of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Mrs. Marvel Holt, of Marion, Iowa; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Senora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hartwick; and two brothers, Oscar Dymbe and Ardell Dymbe (in infancy).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Lime Creek ELS Church, rural Lake Mills, Iowa, with Rev. Erich Hoeft officiating. Burial will take place in the Lime Creek (Iowa) ELS Cemetery. Visitation for Senora will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
