Sandra "Sandy" Jean Higbee
December 15, 1959 - January 19, 2014Sandra Jean "Sandy" (Monson) Higbee, 54, of Glenville, Minnesota, died on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at her home.
Sandra Jean Monson was born on December 15, 1959, in Forest City, Iowa, the daughter of Milton and Dorothy (Hurst) Monson. She attended Forest City Schools. Then, she lived in Clear Lake for several years before moving to Glenville, Minnesota, few years ago.
Sandy enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, riding horses, collecting elephants, visiting with family and friends, and babysitting her nieces and nephews. A very generous, gentle, and kind hearted person, she always enjoyed giving gifts. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Michael Johnson, of Klemme, Iowa; her daughter, Stacy (Jacie) Middleton, of Carroll, Iowa; her father, Milton (Norma) Monson, of Leland, Iowa; her siblings, Kenneth (Sheryl) Monson, of Garner, Iowa, John (Virginia) Monson, of Forest City, Iowa, Paula (Bill) Gaines, of Glenville, Minnesota, and Darla Thorson, of Lake Mills, Iowa; two grandchildren, Blake and Zach Johnson; and her aunt, Darlene Monson, of Forest City; as well as by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her mother, Dorothy Monson; and her son, Marley Johnson, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 24, 2014, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 North Clark St., Forest City, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Thursday, January 23, 2014, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 North Clark St. Interment will take place at the Ellington Township Cemetery, rural Forest City.
Memorials may be directed to the Sandy (Monson) Higbee memorial fund in care of the family.
