Harriet Brones
(February 4, 1933 - November 17, 2013)

Harriet Brones, age 80, of Rake, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at the United Hospital District in Blue Earth.

Harriet Mae Faber was born February 4, 1933, in Lincoln Township, to Fred and Eva (Dirksen) Faber. She graduated from Rake High School.

On September 22, 1951, she married Ralph Brones in Berkley, California, where they made their home before returning to Rake, Iowa. There, they raised their two children while Harriet worked at the local grocery store.

Harriet enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, quilting, sewing, and volunteering at Hospice of North Iowa.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph; her son Rick (Jan), of Aurora, Illinois, her daughter, Valerie, of Garwood, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Ronya, of Hannibal, Missouri, and Christy, of Aurora, Illinois; and two great-grandchildren, Travis and Ryan.

Harriet is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Craig and Dean; and two brothers, Richard and George.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in Rake with Pastor Terry Mahnke officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM, Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at the church. Interment will be at Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center.
