February 5, 1960 - March 1, 2009MARLOW, Oklahoma - Rich E. Knapper, age 49, of Marlow, Oklahoma, died on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at a hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, where he was working.
Rich was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on February 5, 1960, son of Jerry and Emma Knapper. Baptized and confirmed at Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church, Forest City, Iowa, he attended school in Forest City and graduated from Forest City High School. He worked for Ward North American Van Lines and Superior Well Service in Marlow, Oklahoma. He loved playing basketball, especially with his children.
Rich will be fondly remembered by his children, his mother, other relatives, and friends: his sons, Matthew J., Scott E., Stephen, and Jerry; his daughter Amy L.; his mother Emma Knapper; his sisters, Carol (Joe) Townsend and Vicki (Mike) Nielson; his niece, Holly, and her son, Kane; his nephew, Chad; and his godson, Joseph Knipp.
Rich was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Knapper, and by many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City and an hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at 1:30 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Thompson with Pastor Boyd Longshore officiating. Burial will be at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.
