Annabel Branstad
(May 24, 1921 - January 13, 2007)

Annabel Branstad, 85, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at her home in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Annabel Branstad was born on May 24, 1921, near Thompson, Iowa, the daughter of Boal and Helen (Hove) Anderson. On June 2, 1939, she married John E. Branstad in the Winnebago Lutheran parsonage. Together, they farmed in the area for many years before moving into Lake Mills where she was employed at Fleetguard, now known as Cummins Filtration, working there for twenty-seven years before she retired in 1986. John passed away on November 19, 1999.

Annabel is survived by her three daughters: Marilyn (Curt) Cornell, of Lake Mills, Iowa, Janice Branstad, of Duluth, Minnesota, and LeAnn Hagen, of Lake Mills, Iowa; her grandchildren: Gregary (Nancy) Cornell, Angela (Doug) Bacon, Robb (Anne) Napoli-Quisling, Sara (Warren) Brackey, Ryan Quisling, Jeffrey (April) Cornell, and Kevin (Miranda) Cornell; her great-grandchildren: Jacob, Jordynn, and Josie Brackey; Mitchell Storby; Caleb and Logan Bacon; Edward, Celia, and Vincent Napoli-Quisling; Tyler, Lauren, Tucker, and Quin Cornell; and Alexis Peterson; her sisters, Thelma Leegaard, her twin, of Hoffman, Minnesota, and Alica Christian, of Foley, Alabama; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Branstad, of Frederic, Wisconsin.

Annabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, Gary Hagen; three brothers, Albin, Oliver, and Earnest Anderson; and two sisters, Hazel Larson and Ora Hofbauer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, at the Winnebago Lutheran Church in rural Lake Mills, Iowa, with Pastor Bill Peters officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 PM, Tuesday, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Winnebago Lutheran Cemetery.
