August 30, 1918 - January 6, 2013

FOREST CITY - Harriet Elliott, 94, of Forest City, went home to her Lord on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the Concord Care Center in Garner.

Harriet was born to Johann and Johannes (Borge) Rongved on August 30, 1918, in Bode, Iowa. In 1937, she graduated from high school in Rapid City, South Dakota. She, then, moved to Fort Dodge where she met and married Donald Elliott on July 4, 1940. They lived for many years in Fort Dodge before moving to Forest City.

Harriet was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. She was an avid reader and loved doing jigsaw puzzles. For many years, she was an active member of the Forest City Bowling Leagues.

Harriet is survived by her two children, Vicki Goodrich, of Elgin, Illinois, and Terry (Cindy) Elliott, of Fort Dodge; her grandchildren, Tricia, Sara, Justin, Joshua, Molly, Dennis, Austin, and Gerrard; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Laila, of Milford; four nieces; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and a sister.

Memorials may be made to the Louis Rabiner Boys Home in Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Burial will be at the Bode Cemetery in Bode, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
