Frances E. Iverson
(June 5, 1917 - January 2, 2013)Frances E. Iverson, 95, of Lake Mills, Iowa, formerly of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, died on Wednesday, January 02, 2013, at the Lyngblomsten Care Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Frances Eleanor (Iseminger) Iverson was born on June 5, 1917, in Ogilvie, Minnesota, to Doris (Adams) and Ora Iseminger. She graduated from Dows High School in 1935. Following her graduation, she attended summer school to earn a teaching diploma at the University of Northern Iowa. She enjoyed teaching country school in the Dows area from 1935 until 1942.
About this time, she became engaged to Eldon Bertelson. Unfortunately, their relationship ended when he was killed in Italy during World War II. She, then, accepted a bookkeeping position at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa, working there until 1946. That same year she married Andrew Curtis Iverson from Dows, Iowa. Andy passed away on July 14, 2012.
Frances’ greatest joys were family and friends, flowers and sewing. She worked as a professional seamstress at Pat’s Lace and Stitch in Fort Dodge, Iowa, covering lamp shades and making window coverings. She had a very profound faith in God that guided her daily. Lovingly, she raised her own children and cared for a number of foster children. She was active in her church, Bible studies, and Prison Ministry. She enjoyed her kitty, Tico.
Frances is survived by her three children: John (Annette) Iverson, of Clearwater, Florida, Reade Adams (John Schroder), of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Paul (Judy) Iverson, of Lake City, Iowa; her six grandchildren, Ellen Lodin, of Lake Mills, Iowa, Jesse (Sarah) Mullan, of San Francisco, California, Joshua (Jill) Iverson, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Seth (Elizabeth) Iverson, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Micah (Carrie) Iverson, also of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Leah (Jeff) Snyder, of Mt. Carmel, Iowa; her eight great-grandchildren; and Masumi (Mike) Hogan, of Fullerton, California; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy; her parents; and her sisters, Carolyn Brandt and Jean Bertelson.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, Iowa, with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating.
