FOREST CITY - Michael B. Douglas, 57, of Forest City, died Friday, January 4, 2013, at his home in Forest City.

Michael Brian Douglas was born on May 15, 1955, in Albia, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Agnes (Geertz) Douglas. His family moved around so Mike grew up in several Iowa communities including both Ottumwa and Iowa City.

He later made his home in Forest City where he accepted a position at Winnebago Industries, starting a career spanning over thirty years.

An avid fisherman, Mike loved the outdoors and animals. He treasured time spent with his family and enjoyed taking them camping.

He passed away at his home in rural Forest City on Friday, January 4, 2013, at the age of 57 years.

Mike is survived by his sons: Joshua (Jacqlyn) Douglas and Matthew Douglas, both of Forest City; a grandson, Miles Douglas, of Forest City and a grandchild pending; two sisters, Paula Milam and Marie Westerholt; and three brothers, Geoff, Mark, and Pat Douglas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

As per his wishes, his body has been cremated, and there will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8, 2012, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N Clark Street, Forest City, with Pastor Jerald Swanberg of the Forest City United Methodist Church officiating.
