Lois M. Schmoll, 91, of West Liberty, Iowa, formerly of Lake Mills, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Lois Mae (Schulz) Schmoll was born on February 16, 1921, near Hayfield, Iowa, the daughter of Gustav Albert and Anna Margaretha (Stoltenberg) Schulz. She graduated from Hayfield Consolidated School and worked with her parents on the farm for several years. She, then, worked in Fort Dodge at the Thiede Mueller Hardware Store and later at the Hancock County National Bank in Garner, Iowa.

On April 3, 1947, Lois married Merlyn Clifford Schmoll at the Hayfield Methodist Church. A homemaker, she farmed with Merlyn near Lake Mills, Iowa, for over fifty years. The couple had two sons, Jack and Henry.

Lois is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Merlyn, of West Liberty, Iowa; two sons, Jack (Barb) Schmoll, of Wilton, Iowa, and Henry (Barb) Schmoll, of Marion, Iowa; three grandchildren, Michelle (Art) Davis, of Boone, Iowa, Brian (Julie) Schmoll, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Abbey Schmoll, of Cincinnati, Ohio; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Arnold, of Garner, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Donald Schulz; and her sister, Darlene Adams.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Lake Mills, Iowa, with Pastor Wendi Gillan officiating.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 AM to 11:00 AM) at the church.
Burial will take place at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
