John Anderson was born in Franklin county, Iowa, Jan. 28, 1894.
His mother, Johanna Johnson, passed away in 1936, and his father, Olaf Anderson died in 1904. One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
He was baptized in the Christian faith and confirmed by Rev. S.M. Halverson at Thompson, Iowa. He lived in Hancock and Winnebago counties, Iowa, and attended rural schools there.
He was married to Lillian Hanson, Jan. 17, 1923, at Forest City, Iowa, by Rev. Quello. They lived in Moscow township the past 23 years.
He slept peacefully away due to a heart condition at 4:45 a.m., Thursday morning, Oct. 26, 1950, at his home. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Anderson, two daughters, Mrs. Robert Micich (Donna) of Charles City, Iowa, and Lois at home; one brother, Olaf at Scarville, and two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Nelson (Laura) of Thompson, Iowa, and Mrs. C.A. Larson (Annie) of Lake Mills, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
At the time of his death he was a member of the Moscow Lutheran church, clerk of School Dist. 78, served on the Red Oak Grove Creamery board, and was on the church call committee.
Rev. S.J. Fretheim conducted the funeral Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Moscow Lutheran church. Interment was at the Moscow cemetery.
He also has served on the church board, taken an active part in community affairs and was always wiling and ready to lend a helping hand wherever he could.
He was a loving and kind husband and father and wil be dearly missed by his family, relatives, neighbors and friends.
