Lucille Lois Koppen was born on July 3, 1921, in Titonka, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Martha (Paulsen) Peterson. She grew up in Titonka where she attended high school, graduating in 1938. Lucille then moved to Algona where she worked in the conservation office for two and a half years and as a teller and bookkeeper in the bank for three years. After Wayne’s death in 1991, Lucille moved to a home in Buffalo Center, Iowa. An active member of the United Methodist Church in Buffalo Center, she served on the United Methodist Women’s Board, the Mary Circle, and as the acting church secretary into her mid 80’s.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; a daughter, Meredith Ann; her sisters, Lela Bentley and Deloris Reckliefs; and her brothers, Eugene, Merle, Larry, and Richard Peterson; as well as one grandchild, Kristofer Koppen.

Lucille is survived by six children; fourteen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
