January 20, 1925 - December 12, 2011FOREST CITY - Lois A. Anderson, age 86, of Forest City, died Monday, December 12, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.
Lois was born on January 20th, 1925, to George and Alma Lunn in Clear Lake, Iowa. She graduated from Clear Lake High School and then attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she met Chester Porter. They were married in 1948, and to this union, four children were born: Douglas Porter, Jeffrey Porter (Mavis), Gregory Porter (deceased), and Janelle Porter, along with four grandchildren, Jason Porter, Joshua Porter (Amy), James Porter, and Andrew Green.
After Chester's death in 1964, Lois met Wilfer Anderson whom she married in 1966. She added Wilfer's four daughters, Vicki Todd (Warren) , Merdys Ingvoldstad (Paul), Judy Johnston (John) and Laurie Wittemayer-O'Neill (Terry), along with eleven grandchildren, Kristin Burton (Kyle), Bjorn (Loretta) and Nils Ingvoldstad (Hadyn), Erika Ott (Andy), Ryan (Sara), Dane (Lisa), and Leif Johnston David (deceased), and Daniel Wittemayer (Kelly). She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and her brother, George Lunn, Jr. (Betty). She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and cooking. Very active in her church, Legion, and bridge club, she also sold Avon for over forty years.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service at the church.
Inurnment will be in Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake, Iowa.
