Loren Herbert Bolstad
(August 1, 1922 - October 13, 2011)

Loren H. Bolstad, age 89, of Lake Mills, died Thursday, October 13, 2011, at his home in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Loren Bolstad was born August 1, 1922, in Lake Mills, Iowa, the son of Albert and Inger (Moen) Bolstad. He graduated from Lake Mills High School where he had been on the A honor roll all four years. Following his education, Loren served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946. During that time, he was deployed to the West Pacific.

After his tour of duty with the Army, Loren worked as a professional painter and then spent twenty-two years with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1983.

On May 10, 1977, Loren married Luella (Ulve) Peterson in Watertown, South Dakota.

He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, watching ballgames and traveling with his wife, Luella.

Loren is survived by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Luella; his sister, Verna Hugelen, of Leland, Iowa; his stepson, Bruce (Cheryl) Peterson, of Prior Lake, Minnesota; his grandson Chad Peterson, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Virgil; and five sisters, Evelyn Nelson, Gladys Ordahl, Beulah Schuck, Lucille Cooley, and Arlene Holtan.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM, Monday, October 17, 2011, at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Lake Mills, Iowa, with Pastor Wendi Gillan officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service ONLY at the church on Monday.

Burial will take place at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills, Iowa.
