(August 9, 1915 - September 24, 2011)

Mattie Bowers, age 96, of Buffalo Center, died Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Orthel, of Clear Lake, Iowa; four grandchildren: Jim (Diane) Orthel, of Forest City, Iowa, Laurie (Dave) Michael, of Denton, Texas, Debbie (Dale) Dykema of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Bob (Christy) Orthel, of Springfield, Missouri; thirteen great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 29, 2011, at the Buffalo Center United Methodist Church with Pastors Debra Devine and Randy Vaage officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Buffalo Center.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Winter Funeral Home.
