December 9, 1955 - September 2, 2010LELAND - Kay L. Lee, age 54 of Leland, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Kay Louise Lee was born in Britt, Iowa, on December 9, 1955, the daughter of Wallace and Beverly (Potter) Larson. She graduated from Forest City High School.
On July 3, 1987, Kay was united in marriage to Roger Lee in Forest City, Iowa. The couple made their home in Leland.
Kay was one of the kindest, most gentle, loving persons you will ever meet. She did not say anything bad about anyone and knew just what to say to make you feel special. She loved her “Baby Love’s” which was her dog Sandy for 16 years and currently Baxter. She enjoyed being outside and soaking up the sun, looking at her trees, and listening to the birds sing. She liked just being at home with Roger and watching the Hallmark Channel. She also loved the frequent telephone conversations with daughter Jennifer and the visits from Lisa.
Kay worked at Winnebago Stitchcraft for 34 years. She was a lead and loved taking charge of Friday lunches for the department. She was involved with Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leland teaching Sunday School for many years and also was a Sunday School Superintendent. Her belief in and love of Angels was very present in her home. She also like to speak about Jesus.
Kay passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at the Muse Norris Hospice in Mason City with her husband Roger, daughters Jennifer and Lisa and sister Barbara by her side.
She is survived by her husband Roger and daughters Jennifer Hansen and Fiancé Terry of Mosinee, WI, and Lisa Hansen and fiancé Jesse of Crystal Lake, IA. She is also survived by her mother, Beverly Larson of Forest City, IA, her brother, Stephen Larson and wife Opal of DeKalb, IL, her sister, Barbara Wilson and husband Mark of Battlefield, MO, her granddaughters, Marlee Kay O’Toole and Hailey, grandson Hunter, nephews Dylan and Nicklys Larson, Matthew and Michael Wilson and niece Anna Larson.
Kay was proceeded in death by her father, Wallace Larson, and her sister-in-law, Kriss Larson.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leland, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, September 3, 2010, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N Clark St., Forest City, and will continue an hour prior to service at the church.
Inurnment will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Leland at a later date.
