Irene Winter
(August 1, 1929 - June 27, 2010)

Irene Winter, age 80, of Buffalo Center, Iowa, passed away at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center, Iowa, Sunday June 27, 2010.

Irene G. Boehm Winter was born August 1, 1929, to William and Gertie (Janssen) Boehm. She grew up around the Lakota and Buffalo Center areas and attended county school.

Most of her early life she worked various jobs until she met the love of her life Edward Winter. They were united in marriage on March 5, 1947, in Blue Earth, MN. From this union, she was blessed with seven children. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She remained loyal to her church, her organizations, and to her work place, Winnebago Industries, from which she retired after over forty years of employment.

She is survived by her five children: Lyle (Janet) Winter of Muscatine, IA; Lynda (Tom) Schmitz of Nora Springs, IA; Lynelle (David) Roberts of Lakota, IA; Lyndall (Nancy) Winter of Blue Grass, IA, and Lysa Vogt of Blue Earth, MN; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; Siblings Pauline Eisenhauer; Rosie (Harvey) Nerdig; Otto (Dorothy) Boehm; George (Elaine) Boehm; John Boehm; Fred Boehm; Robert (Gracille) Boehm; Denny (JoAnn) Boehm; many sisters- and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward; 2 children: Dale and Jeffery; her parents William and Gertie Boehm; her mother- and father-in-law Ubbe and Hermena Winter; brother Carl Boehm; 3 sisters-in-law: June Winter; Gretchen Boehm; Waneda Boehm; 4 brothers-in-law: Harold Eisenhauer; Andy Winter; John Winter; Merle Miller; and niece Sharon Miller.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center, Iowa, with Rev. Bill Peake officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center, Iowa, and one hour prior to the funeral service.
