Mrs. Keleher's Mother Dies in Iowa at Age 102

Mrs. W.A. Keleher is in Forest City, Iowa, where she was called by the death of her 102-year-old mother. Her mother, Mrs. Mary Ann Byrnes Barrett, died today. Mrs. Keleher was in Iowa recently to visit her aged mother who was seriously ill.

A lifetime resident of the Forest City area, both Mrs. Barrett's parents and grandparents were residents of the community. Mrs. Barrett was born Dec 17, 1868, in Waukon, Iowa.

Despite her age, Mrs. Barrett remained mentally alert. Unlike most older people, she did not dwell on past history but discussed current events, the family said. She visited in Albuquerque several times during the past few years.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at the Catholic Church in Forest City by her son, Msgr. Norbert C. Barrett, rector of St. Raphael Cathedral, Dubuque, Iowa. She is survived by seven of her eight children.

In addition to Mrs. Keleher, the former Lorretta Barrett, and Msgr. Barrett, they are Miss Mary Barrett of Forest City, a former Hallmark Card artist in Kansas City; Miss Irene Barrett of Forest City; Mrs. Bernadette Smith, Mason City, Iowa; Mrs. Ella Mee, Mason City; James Barrett, Forest City and by 17 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
