Wayne Lee Escherich, 64, of Siloam Springs, died Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 7, 1941, to Reuben and Anna Arnevik Escherich. He owned and operated a Scarville, Iowa, grocery store and a snowmobile dealership before farming for several years and became a full time truck driver in 1984. He later owned and operated Anderson Produce trucking company.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Ruth Davis Escherich; two sons, Randy Escherich of Kiester, Minn., and Brian Escherich of Ankeny, Iowa; three step-children, Mark Mangus of Rock Springs, Wyo., David Mangus of Mullen, Texas, and Jason Mangus of Fort Hood, Texas; two sisters, Susan Helmich and Diane Sorenson; three brothers, Reuben Escherich, Jr., Donald Escherich and Lyle Escherich; and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. today at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with burial at 2 p.m. Friday in Rocky Creek Cemetery near Brownwood, Texas.
